Immanuel’s House and Bethlehem House

We understand that homelessness is not only stressful, but spiritually, emotionally, and sometimes physically, painful. It is our mission to be a catalyst for our neighbors without a home to become independent, productive, self-supporting members of the community. We are here to assist guests on their journey out of homelessness. Both Immanuel’s House and Bethlehem House are unique shelters in the Danville Area providing emergency short-term refuge.

General Eligibility

1. Vermilion County resident

2. Experiencing homelessness or will be

3. Head of household is 18 years of age or older

Obligations of Shelter Guests

  • Seek housing possibilities aggressively

  • Prepare financially for rehousing

  • Maintain shelter according to Use Agreement

  • Complete required documents and logs

  • Report to Housing Management Team as scheduled

Immanuel’s House

  • a single-family dwelling for homeless families with children

  • head of household must be biologically or legally related to the child(ren)

  • family size is six people or less

We recognize the importance of keeping the family together and that maintaining family unity changes the game as they work to end their situation.

Bethlehem House

  • a three-bedroom dwelling for homeless families with children, couples, and individuals (when shelter is not serving families or couples)

At Bethlehem House we focus on improving our guests’ life situations. Helping our guest obtain permanent housing is the goal. Thus, Bethlehem House provides not only a bed, but our staff encourages, equips, and motivates guests to improve their lives.
